This year we’ve gone all out on our decorations and have installed a 14ft Koster fir tree, complete with 2000 silver, gold and burgundy baubles (500 of which are Art Deco), 20 gold garlands and 100 glitter birds!
The pillars are festooned with gold branches and have been lit in amber to give the whole space a warm glow.
I’m sure you’ll agree that it looks very special. Thanks to TBR Floral Design for another wonderful install.
With the festive season only around the corner, thoughts are turning to parties and all things Christmassy. Here at OGGS, the House Manager David Smith and I started working on our Christmas decorations back in January, so it will be great to see all of the planning out into this come to fruition. Make sure you keep an eye out for pictures of our 2018 Christmas tree on social media (see last year’s atmospheric blue display above)!
Thought I’d share some casual photos of the bespoke, hearty Irish fare we’ll be serving up at the Tourism Ireland event at One Great George Street on 3rd October! Looks like it’s going to be a very tasty event.
I’m delighted to announce some recent staff promotions and a new addition to our Events Department here at One Great George Street (OGGS). The retirement of longstanding staff member Margaret Fricker recently heralded the deserved promotion of another longstanding staff member, Yvonne Williams, to Assistant Events Manager. In addition to this we welcome Christine Lewis as our new Event Coordinator. Christine joins myself, Yvonne Williams, Gabrielle Martin and Nicola Gazmuri-Symmes in the new Events Dream Team here at OGGS!
Full confession, I’m a little bit of a social media butterfly. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Whatsapp (particularly Insta), I’m all over it. If I’m not taking what I consider to be tastefully shot images of my brunch, then I’m probably trying to keep up with the latest transfer news via Twitter.
