I attended the MIA Connect Agent day at the lovely DoubleTree Hilton Chester where I had the opportunity to represent One Great George Street while meeting venues and agents from across the country. The day was designed to facilitate best working practices with our existing partners, as well as building new relationships.

The day began with a panel of different agents in a quick fire 30 questions in 30 minutes. Coming from a venue it’s interesting hearing what their frustrations are and how better we can work together.

Then the entire group split into groups of 10 where we discussed topics which ranged from:

  • Sustainability – Who should pay for this, venue or client?
  • Is your venue Millennial ready? If not, how best can we be?
  • What are the current trends?

We then had a fantastic seated buffet lunch which fueled us up for the afternoon team building activity which was based on the concept of ‘Escape Rooms’.

I was pleased to find myself in a very competitive team. We did so well we came first out of 11 teams! The less fortunate found themselves enjoying a bush tucker challenge (as above)!

It was a fantastic day where I was able to meet with 3 new agents with whom I hope to build long lasting parterships.
