We have recently renamed our former Boardroom as The Buchanan Room, in dedication to Dorothy Donaldson Buchanan BSc AMInstCE (1899 – 1985).

Buchanan was the first female member of the Institution elected as such on the 13th December 1927.

Between 1924 and 1932 Buchanan supported the design of multiple bridges and dams including Sydney Harbour Bridge, The King George V Bridge, Lambeth Bridge, Dessouk Bridge, Omdurman Bridge and the Silent Valley Dam.
