Pietas and Roast Rump of lamb – a match made in Heaven!

My favourite food and wine match to show guests on tasting is our roast rump of lamb and the Pietas wine.

The sustainably sourced British lamb is a stalwart on the menu and is served with Dauphinoise potatoes, wilted spinach, cherry tomato compote and a lovingly made rosemary jus, that our chefs can take days creating.

Pietas is a 100% old vine Carignan. The grapes are grown on 40 year old vines on the hillside surrounding Carcassonne in south-west France. It is a stunning ripe and fruity wine with hints of raspberry and strawberry that complement the sweetness of the jus to perfection.

It is supplied through Berry Bros. & Rudd and is very reasonably priced on our Beverage List at £21.50.
