No I am not writing about the sequel to that oft-repeated film nor commenting on EU referendum results. In June, the Embassy of the Philippines celebrated their 118th National Day which marks independence from Spain.
The embassy hired our Great Hall for this annual celebration (shown as a blank canvas below). The room is a perfect space for this type of function given its stately proportions, and is ideal for diplomatic missions which either need a larger space to use than they have on their own premises, or they prefer to use an independent space. Our Great Hall has been used by many diplomatic missions over the years for a range of functions and events, and given our location by Parliament,Whitehall and many of London’s embassies and High Commissions, our easily accessible and secure venue is ideal.
The Embassy of the Philippines invited 350 guests to their celebration who were treated to a range of canapés including typical Chilli Rice Crackers with Mango Dip and Fired and Salted Giant Corn. Guests were also offered smoothies made with Filipino mangoes provided by the client along with a selection of appropriate wines and beer.
The room was decorated in the national colours of blue, red and white using flowers created by our supplier and in-house florist Toby Roberts of TBR Floral Design and lighting in the same colours by our on-site AV team Eclipse Presentations.
Traditional singing and dancing ensured the guests were entertained and enjoyed a memorable event.
