Here at One Great George Street (OGGS) we try and make each client experience as unique and personal as possible. Once we had the Paramount Pictures events team come in for an evening and we were racking our brains as to where to host them and how to differentiate from the norm – we had just been informed of our brand spanking new HD projector in the Telford Theatre and that was it…a light bulb moment and we went from there.
We decided to pick the latest Paramount production which was Noah at the time and asked our ever so ‘hands on board’ Audio Visual team to hook it up! The evening consisted of our guests arriving with a warm welcome by yours truly and a brief history lesson on the ICE and the existence of OGGS. Once the usual spiel was over, I lead the Paramount events team to the double doors which opened up to our largest fixed theatre space with trailers of the film Noah projected on the front screen and delicious nibbles prepared by our in-house catering team along the fixed top table for the evening to commence. The Paramount girls still remember all of the spaces tailored for them.
Another time, we hosted a dinner for the Kuoni Team. An intimate dinner for 12 smack bang in the middle of our Great Hall followed by an interactive dessert course including a very cool dessert wine tasting lesson. Shelley Coleman is our expert Sommelier here at OGGS (check out her own blog posts) and she put together a brilliant selection of dessert wines to match a particular dessert with the extra trimmings of cheese, chutneys and crackers to accompany the lesson. The team at Kuoni really enjoyed it and thought it was a great way to picture what type of experience their clients would have for dinner events.
So, depending on who our clients are and what the aim of their event is, the sales team hit the brainstorming sessions and come up with wonderful and wacky ways of giving our clients a memorable experience as well as a worthy reason to use OGGS for their events.
