Great news!  One Great George Street has now become a finalist in the category ‘Best Conference Venue – up to 300 delegates’ for the 2016 Conference Awards!

The Conference Awards is the flagship event of The Global Conference Network (GCN) which was established to provide quality information and events for the global conference industry. The GCN aims to facilitate dialogue and strategic thinking amongst the world’s conference companies through a variety of different forums and channels. Through events, education and industry wide projects the GCN look to facilitate best practice within the conference industry and provide an industry wide voice to external organisations including educational institutions, suppliers and government bodies.

Finding your perfect wedding venue

One Great George StreetThere is no doubt that summer weddings are popular even though the British weather is somewhat unpredictable. However, while working in a city venue I have noticed that weddings are not as seasonal and are popular all year round. Like many venues, at One Great George Street we have a low, medium and high season. When I first started working here I was surprised to hear that our high season was in fact from September to December and not May to August which is what I had been used to working previously in country house wedding venues. Meet Fine Art Restorer, Lucia Munoz-Barrena

WorkshopMeet Lucia Munoz-Barrena – my new Fine Art Restorer based onsite at our historic, Grade II listed venue, One Great George Street.

Lucia hails from Madrid, and comes equipped with a Degree in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural and Artistic Heritage.

Her theoretical knowledge is supplemented by ample hands-on experience, including work for the Simon Gillespie Studio,  Álava Archaeological Museum, Fournier Museum of Cards, Fleta Theatre and the Pignatelli Building.
